Turning Your Current Car into Real Buying Power

There’s a moment in every upgrade where the numbers either work… or they don’t. Your current vehicle plays a bigger role in that equation than most people expect. Handled properly, a trade-in isn’t just a step in the process. It’s leverage. At Team Chevrolet NV, that leverage can make the difference between settling and getting the Chevy you want, right here in Las Vegas.
Start With Reality, Not Guesswork
Before you arrive, it’s worth understanding roughly where your vehicle stands in the market. Online valuation tools give you a useful baseline. Year, mileage, condition, demand. It’s not exact, but it’s close enough to frame expectations properly.
The key is walking in informed, not optimistic. Vehicles trade on condition and demand, not sentiment. For Las Vegas drivers, that clarity makes the conversation far more straightforward.

A modern Chevrolet asks quite a lot from its battery. It powers the ignition system, infotainment screens, driver-assistance technology, lighting, onboard electronics, and in some cases enough USB ports to resemble a boutique airport lounge. And yet most drivers only think about the battery when the vehicle suddenly refuses to start outside a grocery store in Las Vegas during a 108-degree afternoon.
That, naturally, is not ideal. Understanding proper battery maintenance before things reach that stage is one of the simplest ways to avoid unnecessary inconvenience, especially in Southern Nevada where heat can be particularly unforgiving to automotive electrical systems.
Desert Heat Is Ruthless on Vehicle Batteries
Cold weather tends to get blamed for dead batteries, but excessive heat is often the greater long-term enemy.
Las Vegas temperatures accelerate internal battery wear by increasing fluid evaporation and stressing internal components over time. Even a healthy battery can deteriorate faster under prolonged exposure to extreme heat, particularly during stop-and-go driving or extended idling.
For Chevrolet owners around Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas, annual battery inspections should realistically become part of routine vehicle service alongside oil changes and tire rotations.

The shift to electric doesn’t need to feel like a leap. In the case of the 2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV, it feels more like a natural progression. This is an SUV designed to integrate into daily life without asking you to relearn how you drive, plan, or think about your vehicle. For drivers in Las Vegas, NV, it presents a clear, measured step into electrification.
A Cabin Designed Around Use, Not Just Display
The interior of the Equinox EV reflects a focus on usability. A 17.7-inch touchscreen sits at the center, supported by Google built-in and wireless smartphone integration. It’s not there to impress at a glance. It’s there to function cleanly, day after day.
Passenger space is properly resolved, with seating for five and rear accommodation that feels intentional rather than secondary. Up to 26.4 cu. ft. of cargo space reinforces that this is still, at its core, a practical SUV.
Driver-assistance systems are embedded across the lineup in a way that feels integrated, not optional. Features such as Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist are part of the structure of the vehicle, not an afterthought.

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD doesn’t exist to make subtle statements. It exists to tow enormous loads through desert heat while looking mildly irritated by the entire experience. And honestly, that’s exactly what a heavy-duty truck should do.
For buyers around Las Vegas, NV, where job sites, long highway pulls, and trailer duty are part of everyday life, the Silverado HD lineup continues to lean heavily into what matters most: power, durability, towing confidence, and enough trim flexibility to suit everyone from fleet managers to luxury-truck obsessives.
Chevrolet Gives You Two Very Different Kinds of V8 Muscle
The centerpiece of the 2026 Silverado HD lineup is its pair of available 6.6L V8 engines. Both are designed for serious work. They simply go about it differently.
The standard gasoline 6.6L V8 produces 401 hp and 464 lbs. ft. of torque, making it an excellent fit for buyers who need strong towing and payload capability without stepping into diesel ownership. It’s smooth, predictable, and surprisingly refined for something built to haul construction equipment across Nevada.

Why Oil Changes Matter More in Las Vegas
Engine oil does a lot of quiet work. It keeps moving parts lubricated, helps manage heat, and carries away debris that builds up over time. As oil ages, it breaks down and loses its ability to protect the engine. High temperatures can put more stress on the engine, especially during heavy traffic or long drives across the valley. That means sticking to your recommended oil change interval is even more important here than in milder climates.
Fresh oil keeps everything running smoother. It helps maintain fuel efficiency, reduces wear, and supports long-term reliability. If you’ve been keeping up with general maintenance, this is the core of it. Everything else depends on clean, effective oil doing its job.

Room for People, Gear, and Everything In Between
Seating for up to 8 means you’re not negotiating who sits where every time you leave the driveway. The second row can be set up with captain’s chairs or a bench, depending on how you use it, and the third row is usable with plenty of room.
Cargo space tops out at 98 cu. ft., which is enough for groceries, sports gear, luggage, or all of it at once. Fold things down, move things around, it adapts without making it complicated.

Many trucks say they offer a variety of capabilities. Tow this, haul that – but you want to make sure you have a truck that can do these tasks with ease. The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 backs it up in ways that matter, especially if you’re driving around Las Vegas, NV where your truck has to handle heat, traffic, and more.

Performance Backed by Impressive Powertrains
You’ve got options here. The TurboMax™ engine puts out 310 hp and 430 lbs. ft. of torque, which is plenty for your everyday driving needs. Need more towing power? The Duramax® 3.0L Turbo-Diesel can provide you with the bold towing capacities you need!
Read the rest of this entry »Why is seasonal maintenance for your Chevy essential? When temperatures climb, your cooling system works overtime. If your coolant is low or your radiator isn’t doing its job, things get hot very quickly. Scheduling a cooling system inspection service and checking fluid levels early can prevent overheating before it becomes a roadside event.

A quick A/C system service keeps things cold inside while the outside does its best impression of the sun. Tires also deserve attention. Heat increases pressure, and neglected tires don’t respond well to that. A tire inspection and rotation service helps keep everything stable and predictable.

General Motors is redefining what an electric vehicle can do. Beyond delivering impressive performance and zero-emissions driving, today’s Chevrolet EVs are designed to do more than just get you from point A to point B. In fact, GM ranked as a top-two EV seller in the U.S. in 2025, and more than 246,000 GM vehicles sold were equipped with technology capable of helping power a properly equipped home during an outage.¹ ²
That means thousands of Chevrolet EV drivers are already prepared for more than the daily commute—they’re ready to support their homes when it matters most.
How Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) Works with Chevrolet EVs
Through GM Energy, select vehicle-to-home (V2H) capable Chevrolet EVs can pair with available home energy management systems. When connected to the proper equipment, your EV can help supply power to your home during a grid outage. Instead of relying solely on traditional backup generators, your Chevrolet EV can become part of your home’s energy solution.
This system uses technologies such as the GM Energy PowerShift Charger and the V2H Enablement Kit to create a seamless connection between your EV and your home’s electrical system. When the grid goes down, your properly equipped Chevrolet EV can help keep essential systems running.
Making Home Energy Solutions More Accessible
GM Energy is exploring ways to make home energy management more attainable for homeowners. One potential option under development is a leasing program for GM Energy home energy systems and PowerBank home batteries.
Rather than paying the full cost upfront, customers may have the option to make manageable monthly payments—similar to leasing a vehicle. This approach is designed to reduce the barrier to entry and fit more comfortably into household budgets. Additional details are expected closer to launch.
According to Wade Sheffer, Vice President of GM Energy, the goal is simple: unlock the unique benefits of EV ownership and provide customers with smarter ways to manage energy while maximizing the value of their investment.
Real-World Benefits for Chevrolet Owners
Every household’s energy needs are different. Some Chevrolet EV owners are pairing compatible solar panels, battery storage, and models like the Chevrolet Silverado EV to gain greater energy independence and manage utility costs more effectively.
Others have used their systems to maintain power during major storms, including Gulf Coast hurricanes and West Coast wildfires. By charging their EV overnight—when electricity rates may be lower—and using stored energy during peak hours, some drivers are actively reducing their monthly energy bills.
Programs like “Free Charge Nights” in Texas through Reliant Energy, along with pilot initiatives such as PG&E’s vehicle-to-everything (V2X) program, are helping expand opportunities for incentives and grid integration. GM Energy has also reported positive internal testing for vehicle-to-grid capability and continues working with utilities to certify these systems. The future vision is clear: your Chevrolet EV, your home, and the grid working together intelligently.
A Smarter Alternative to Traditional Generators
Unlike gas-powered generators, vehicle-to-home systems offer quiet operation and eliminate the need for annual maintenance tied to fuel systems. When properly installed and connected, a V2H-capable Chevrolet EV can provide backup support without the noise and upkeep many homeowners are used to.
As energy technology continues to evolve, Chevrolet and GM are positioning EV ownership as more than just transportation—it’s an opportunity to rethink how your home uses and stores energy.

The Challenge Begins at Daytona
IMSA presents a unique test for teams, starting with its most demanding event of the year: 24 hours on the Daytona International Speedway road course in Daytona Beach, Florida. It’s a race that sets the tone for the entire season.
Veteran driver Tommy Milner, now entering his 15th year with Corvette Racing and a previous Daytona class winner, understands the magnitude of the event. With IMSA competition tighter than ever, teams must execute flawlessly from start to finish. A strong performance at Daytona not only earns prestige—it provides critical momentum for the championship battle ahead.
A Competitive 11-Race Schedule
The IMSA schedule spans 11 rounds across North America, culminating in the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in October. While most of the calendar remains unchanged for 2026, Road America now becomes a six-hour endurance race, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course event shifts to a two-hour, 40-minute sprint format.
The Z06 GT3.R remains largely the same as its championship-winning 2025 configuration. Although IMSA competitors will use a newly designed tire this season, changes are expected to be minimal in overall performance impact.

Corvette Racing’s Winning Tradition
With packed grids featuring production-based race cars from multiple manufacturers, the GTD PRO and GTD classes are among the most competitive in sports car racing. Still, Corvette teams have consistently proven they know how to win—collecting race victories and championships year after year.
As the green flag drops on the 2026 season, the Corvette legacy continues with confidence and championship ambitions.
